For Support teams that live in Slack, switching between your project management tool and your communication hub can be a major productivity killer. You create a task in ClickUp, but the discussion about it happens in Slack. This forces you to constantly hop between tabs, updates in Slack get lost and there’s no single source of truth. While there are many different ways of integrating Slack and ClickUp - so far there hasn’t been a way to discuss ClickUp tasks into Slack and sync the discussion back into ClickUp seamlessly.

To bridge this gap, we’re excited to introduce the Reverse ClickUp Flow in ClearFeed. Now, you can seamlessly bring any task created in ClickUp into your Slack channels, enabling bi-directional sync of comments and status updates. This ensures your support and operations teams can stay and collaborate in Slack on ClickUp tasks - right from Slack. Let’s dive in!

Key Features of ClearFeed’s Reverse Clickup Flow

The Reverse ClickUp Flow allows you to mirror ClickUp tasks into Slack, creating a live, two-way connection for seamless task management across both platforms. Here’s what this enables:

  • Work on Tasks from Slack: Agents can view and respond to ClickUp tasks directly from Slack threads, with all replies synced back to ClickUp as comments.

  • Sync Comments and Status in Real-Time: Any comment added in ClickUp appears in the linked Slack thread, and status changes are reflected, keeping everyone in the loop.

  • Maintain a Unified Record: By syncing conversations, you ensure the ClickUp task contains the complete history of the issue, including the vital discussions that happened in Slack.
  • Leverage ClickUp Forms in Slack: If a form was used in ClickUp to create the task, you can choose to import and display its values within Slack for added context.

How it Works: Setting Up the Reverse ClickUp Flow

Setting up this workflow is straightforward and involves coordinating a simple Slack workflow with ClickUp automation. It takes about five minutes to configure. Here's what the setup involves:

  1. Designate a Slack Channel in ClearFeed to receive ClickUp task notifications.
  2. Build a Slack Workflow that uses a webhook to receive data from ClickUp.
  3. Configure a ClickUp Automation to send task data to your Slack webhook URL.
  4. Whitelist the Bot in ClearFeed to enable seamless bi-directional sync.

Once this connection is established, any task that matches your trigger in ClickUp will automatically appear in your designated Slack channel, with ClearFeed managing the ongoing two-way sync of comments and status.

For a detailed, step-by-step guide, please refer to our Reverse ClickUp Flow documentation.
