Create and Link Support Tickets Faster in Slack with ClearFeed's new Message Bar

When customers or employees share an issue in Slack, the next step of converting that chat into a trackable ticket isn't always intuitive. We've heard from our customers that users frequently overlook pinned instructions, forget specific slash commands, or simply get caught up in the conversation flow. For support teams, this often means manually tracking down lost requests and spending valuable time on follow-ups, rather than focusing on resolution.

To address this gap, we’re introducing Message Bar in ClearFeed’s comprehensive solution for Slack-based Ticketing. It’s a persistent, actionable bar at the bottom of request channels in Slack that gives users a clear, one-click way to create a ticket directly from the chat interface. By keeping the action directly in front of users, Message Bar helps ensure that:

  • Tickets are created without manual efforts
  • Ticket creation remains consistent
  • Teams spend less time guiding users through the process

Let’s dive in to see how the new Message Bar works and simplifies your workflow.

How Message Bar Works

Message Bar can be configured in all Slack channels that belong to a ClearFeed Collection where ticket creation is enabled. Once configured, it stays anchored to the bottom of the channel and updates automatically as new messages arrive, ensuring the “File a Ticket” action is always accessible.

Here’s how it functions:

1. A visible, always-present entry point

When the Message Bar is enabled for a Collection, it appears in all monitored Slack channels. It automatically stays below the latest message so users don’t need to scroll or look for instructions.

2. Ticket creation from Slack

Message Bar provides the same functionality as the /cf-file command. When a user clicks the button, ClearFeed opens the appropriate ticket creation flow, whether that is a ClearFeed native ticket or a form-based integration such as Zendesk, Freshdesk, HubSpot, Intercom, Salesforce, or ClickUp.

3. Customizable text and button style

From the Collection settings, admins can adjust:

  • Message Bar text (e.g., “Need to file a ticket?”)
  • Button label (e.g., “Create Ticket”)
  • Button style (Primary: Green / Default: Transparent / Danger: Red)

This allows teams to keep the action aligned with their internal workflows or expectations.

4. Integrates with your existing ticketing setup

Message Bar works seamlessly with any form-supported integration you already use including Zendesk, HubSpot, Freshdesk and others. If your setup requires users to fill a form, clicking the Message Bar automatically triggers the right form based on your configuration.

5. Easy to enable or disable

The feature can be turned on or off at the Collection level. When disabled, the bar disappears from all channels instantly, no manual cleanup required.

Collection settings toggle to enable or disable the Message Bar, removing it instantly from all channels when off.

Wrapping Up

Message Bar makes ticket creation in Slack faster, clearer, and more consistent, especially in high-volume channels where timing and visibility matter. By reducing friction at the point of action, it helps teams capture more requests accurately and maintain a smoother support workflow.

This feature is generally available to all ClearFeed customers. If you're interested in learning more about the new functionality, please reach out to us on Slack or email us at support@clearfeed.ai.
